Dr. I Chamisa is a Specialist General and Laparoscopic Surgeon, founder and Medical Director of the Proctology, Pelvic Floor, Endoscopy and Cancer Screening Specialist Surgical Centre. He specializes in the management of diseases of the anus, rectum , colon and stomach with a special
focus on ANORECTAL DISEASES, PELVIC FLOOR DISORDERS AND ENDOSCOPIC/LAPAROSCOPIC PROCEDURES, BREAST DISEASES AND CANCER SCREENING.

He graduated MB ChB at the University of Zimbabwe and did his internship at Mpilo and Bulawayo Central Hospitals in Zimbabwe. Thereafter he had a stint in South Africa after which he left for the United Kingdom where he completed his Surgical Residence in England, Scotland and Wales. He
is both a Member and Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. Upon completion of his Surgical training in the United Kingdom, he moved to Durban, South Africa where he did part of his Surgical training at the University of Kwazulu Natal. He went on to obtain the Fellowship of the College of Surgeons of South Africa.

In 2008 he moved to Kalafong Hospital and the University of Pretoria where he worked as a Consultant General Surgeon and Senior Lecturer. In 2010 he spend a year at Groote Schuur Hospital, Cape Town where he did further training in Colorectal Surgery.

He has been in Private Practice since 2011. However, he is still attached to the University of Pretoria where he assists with teaching and training of undergraduate and postgraduate students. He has attended several international courses and training mainly in endoscopy, laparoscopy, pelvic floor surgery and proctology.

He has done further training in proctology at the University of Geneva Hospital under the guidance of Professor Bruno Roche a world renowned Colorectal and Proctological Surgeon. His main current thrust is in the minimal invasive management of proctology, pelvic floor , endoscopy conditions and cancer screening services with an emphasis on ambulatory/day care procedures.
